“Wizz Air Launches £45.99 Flights to Santorini”

Date:

Wizz Air has introduced new flight paths to a breathtaking island with sunny weather and clear blue waters, offering tickets starting from just £45.99.

As the gloomy British climate persists, many individuals are daydreaming about a sun-soaked vacation, and now is the ideal time to learn that Wizz Air has expanded its flight offerings to the iconic Santorini island in Greece. This stunning locale has long been a popular choice for holidaymakers seeking a serene escape amidst its picturesque white and blue cliff-top villages.

The fresh Wizz Air route linking London Gatwick to Santorini is set to commence on 1 July 2026, as the airline strengthens its connections to Greece in preparation for the busy summer travel period. This new service will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, providing British travelers with increased flexibility for their summer holiday arrangements.

Direct flights are priced at only £45.99 for a one-way trip, making it easier than ever to book a peaceful getaway during the summer vacation without breaking the bank. Santorini offers a wealth of attractions for visitors, ranging from its magnificent cliff-top views and black volcanic sand beaches to some of the most awe-inspiring golden sunsets imaginable.

Visitors can wander through cobblestone paths lined with whitewashed buildings adorned with vibrant pink bougainvillea flowers, creating a scene reminiscent of a moment from Mamma Mia! Due to its striking location perched on volcanic cliffs, the island boasts numerous hiking trails that allow travelers to appreciate its unique charm, including the famous Fira-Oia trail.

Furthermore, tourists can explore the ancient ruins at Akrotiri, take a boat trip across the turquoise waters, relax in Santorini’s hot springs, sample local wines on a vineyard tour, and indulge in Greek cuisine at a variety of charming restaurants, lively bars, and authentic cafes, offering dishes from Gyros to Horiatiki.

The introduction of the new Wizz Air route to Santorini coincides with the airline’s efforts to expand its UK-Greece connections. Wizz Air has also announced additional flights to Chania, Corfu, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Zakynthos launching this summer.

Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, expressed enthusiasm, stating: “The addition of Santorini to our London Gatwick network is perfectly timed for the upcoming peak summer season. Our upcoming Greek routes are already anticipated to be popular with customers, and Santorini is a bucket list destination that people aspire to visit.

“As London’s leading low-cost airline, we are thrilled to offer travelers the chance to experience this iconic island destination at an affordable price. By carefully listening to our customers’ preferences and utilizing our Customer First Compass framework, we ensure that their needs remain a top priority in all our decisions.”

Flights from London Gatwick to Santorini, with a travel time of under four hours, will soon be open for booking on the Wizz Air website or app. Prices for a one-way direct ticket will start at £45.99, with the inaugural flight scheduled for 1 July 2026.
