A tragic incident unfolded as a four-year-old boy passed away following being discovered unconscious in a swimming pool and receiving CPR from family members. The heartbreaking event occurred on the evening of Friday, January 9 in Bobs Farm, located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Emergency services were urgently summoned to the scene in an attempt to save the child’s life.
Both police and ambulance teams responded promptly, making desperate efforts to revive the boy before transferring him to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition. Despite the exhaustive attempts made, the young boy, who remains unidentified, succumbed to the incident shortly after the Christmas period.
A spokesperson from the New South Wales Police reported the tragic incident, stating that the boy was found unresponsive in a pool on the state’s mid north coast. Upon receiving the emergency call at around 7:30 pm on Friday, January 9, responders arrived at Bobs Farm where family members had initiated CPR until paramedics took over. The child was treated at the location before being transported to John Hunter Hospital, where he tragically passed away.
Authorities from Port Stephens/Hunter Police District launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking event, with a detailed report set to be compiled for the coroner.
In a separate incident, an eight-year-old boy also lost his life after being discovered unresponsive in a separate swimming pool incident near Shepparton, Australia, on Sunday, November 9. Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene, the child, whose identity remains undisclosed, could not be saved, succumbing to injuries sustained during the pool tragedy.
