A woman who drove recklessly at over 85mph on a rural road, resulting in a crash that killed three young men, has been sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison. Jorja Colville, from Stirling, Scotland, caused the fatal accident on C3 Moss Road near Dunmore village in Stirlingshire by driving at dangerous speeds and losing control of her Ford Focus, leading to a collision with a tree.
The victims, Reece Williams, 23, Lewis Soden, 24, and Connor Page, 21, lost their lives in the tragic incident that occurred in July 2024. Colville pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at the High Court in Edinburgh in November last year.
In a heartbreaking statement, Connor Page’s father, Kevin, expressed the profound impact of the loss, revealing the ongoing pain and sorrow the family endures. Colville, an early years assistant with no prior convictions, has been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression following the crash, receiving medical treatment and therapy.
Prosecutors detailed how Colville’s car, identified by registration JO17 RJA, overtook another vehicle at high speed before veering off the road and colliding with a tree. Witnesses described the aftermath of the crash, with one witness finding Colville injured and calling for help at the scene.
Family members of the victims also shared their grief and memories of their loved ones. Tracy Williams, mother of Reece, reflected on her son’s joyful childhood and the void left by his untimely death, acknowledging the impact on both families involved in the tragedy.
The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of dangerous driving and the lasting effects it can have on families and communities.
