Renowned Beauty Brand Malin + Goetz Enters Administration

Date:

Malin + Goetz, a renowned beauty brand, has recently entered administration, leading to the closure of all seven of its stores in the UK. The affected stores are situated in various locations across London, including Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, impacting over 70 job positions.

In response to the administration, online orders through the company’s website have been temporarily suspended. A notice on the Malin + Goetz website informs visitors that online orders are currently not being accepted, but assures customers of a prompt return to normal operations.

Despite the store closures, customers can still acquire Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK. The brand’s spokesperson conveyed to TheIndustry.beauty that after a thorough evaluation of the business and exploration of various options, the decision to place the UK business into administration was deemed necessary, resulting in store closures and the shutdown of the head office.

Although the closure of stores and loss of jobs are regrettable, they were deemed unavoidable given the circumstances. Malin + Goetz, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially started with a small range of six products catering to all skin types. Over the years, the brand has diversified its offerings to include fragrances, body care products, and other beauty items.

The brand’s website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, although the exact duration of this downtime remains unclear. At Reach and across affiliated entities, user data is utilized to enhance site experience, analyze usage patterns, and deliver personalized advertisements. Visitors can manage their data sharing preferences by accessing the designated settings on the website.
