“Bulgaria’s Varna: Best-Value Beach in Europe”

Date:

A coastal destination in Europe known for its affordable prices, sandy beaches, and ancient Roman baths is looking to attract more visitors to its location.

While cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, and Venice are popular tourist hubs, the influx of travelers can strain these places, causing overcrowding at major attractions. In response, some lesser-known destinations are actively promoting tourism with attractive deals and incentives to draw holidaymakers.

One such destination is Varna, the third-largest city in Bulgaria, located on the Black Sea coast. Varna boasts the title of the best-value beach in Europe, with Sunny Beach, a Black Sea resort, consistently ranked as one of the most budget-friendly holiday spots.

Bulgaria’s tourism board strategically markets the region by offering affordable accommodations, food, and beverages. Prices are notably low, with a pint of beer costing just £2.50 and hotel stays starting at £24 per night.

Varna’s main draw is its expansive sandy beaches and clear blue waters, where visitors can soak up the sun and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of beachside bars and restaurants. Golden Sands, a renowned beach stretching 3.5km long, is adjacent to Sea Garden park, adding to the area’s allure.

Beyond the beaches and gardens, Varna’s port city offers a rich tapestry of attractions. Visitors can explore colorful streets, quaint coffee shops, restaurants, and delve into ancient history at sites like the Archaeological Museum and the Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral. The city also houses the Roman Thermae Varna, ancient thermal baths dating back to the 2nd century AD, considered the largest ancient structure in Bulgaria.

Travelers have praised Varna for its charm and amenities. One visitor on TripAdvisor described it as a great destination, highlighting the city’s mix of lively beachfront clubs and quieter spots. Another mentioned the bustling summer scene with packed restaurants and clubs.

Flights from London to Varna are affordable, starting from £24, with summer fares around £45, making it an accessible destination for travelers seeking a budget-friendly European getaway.
