Date:

Some Android device users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are rapidly draining even when not in active use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update. Numerous Android users have expressed their frustrations on forums, with one individual mentioning the need to charge their phone thrice daily to maintain its battery life.

The battery drain bug appears to have impacted Google’s range of Pixel phones, prompting the tech giant to acknowledge the issue and work on a fix. Affected devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A.

According to insights from 9to5Google, the problem is linked to continuous CPU wakeups, causing the phone to remain active in the background even when not in use. Users like Phil and Fz have shared their experiences of sudden battery depletion and slow charging post the software update.

While some Pixel users like Warren have reported no battery drain issues on their devices, Google is expected to address the problem with an upcoming update. Updates on this matter will be shared as more information becomes available.
