“Amazon Now: Ultra-Fast Grocery Delivery in Under 30 Minutes”

Date:

Amazon has launched a new ultra-fast grocery delivery service, promising deliveries in under 30 minutes. Customers can choose from a wide range of groceries and household essentials, including items like milk, eggs, nappies, and medicines.

This move puts Amazon in direct competition with supermarkets that already offer similar rapid delivery services through partnerships with delivery firms. The service, known as Amazon Now, is currently being tested in select postcodes in London’s Southwark area using bike delivery, with plans to expand to more areas in the near future.

Amazon’s UK country manager, John Boumphrey, highlighted the convenience of Amazon Now in a blog post, emphasizing the company’s commitment to faster delivery. Prime members can enjoy discounted delivery fees starting from £1.99 per order, compared to £3.99 for non-Prime members, with a flat £2 fee for orders under £15.

Last year, Amazon made the decision to close all its Amazon Fresh grocery stores and focus on enhancing its online delivery services. The closure of the physical stores was attributed to a strategic evaluation of business operations and the significant growth opportunities in online delivery.

Despite the closure of the physical stores, Amazon continues to invest in expanding its online grocery and household essentials offerings. The company’s recent partnership with Gopuff and the launch of Amazon Now underscore its dedication to meeting customer needs efficiently and affordably.
