VP Blames Shooting Victim, Sparks Controversy

Date:

JD Vance criticized a shooting victim, accusing her of being “brainwashed” and “radicalized” and holding her responsible for her own demise. The Vice President of the United States aimed to reduce tension following the tragic incident involving Renee Good, who was shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. However, during a sudden press conference at the White House, he suggested that the 37-year-old mother intentionally tried to run over the agent, who he claimed acted in self-defense, labeling her death as a “tragedy of her own creation.”

This statement follows previous claims by Donald Trump that the shooter had sustained injuries and received treatment at a hospital, despite video evidence showing him walking around the crime scene and driving away. When asked about the potential impact on an ongoing inquiry, the Vice President showed no concern, stating that the situation was clear, despite contradicting accounts from sources outside the Trump administration. Video footage indicates that Good was attempting to drive away from the agent when he fired at her.

Vance went further to allege, without evidence, that Good was connected to a “radical left network” obstructing ICE operations targeting noncitizen deportations. He described her as a victim of left-wing ideology, claiming she had been indoctrinated and radicalized. Contrary to his assertions, local reports suggest that Good had dropped off her child at school and was on her way home, with her ex-husband stating she had no history of activism.

The Vice President questioned the media’s portrayal of the incident and criticized their failure to mention that the agent had been hit by cars previously, although the agent’s identity remains undisclosed. Despite video evidence suggesting otherwise, Vance maintained that Good accelerated her vehicle towards the agent, resulting in a collision. He also defended the agent’s actions, stating that the shooter deserved appreciation for his actions.

When pressed about the alleged brainwashing of Ms. Good, Vance suggested that it was a matter that needed further investigation. Additionally, the Homeland Security Secretary confirmed that the local law enforcement would not be involved in the inquiry, asserting that Minnesota authorities lacked jurisdiction. Instead, the FBI, led by Trump appointee Kash Patel, will oversee the investigation.
