Ordinary room temperature is usually not a concern, as modern routers are designed to withstand typical summer heat levels. However, placing your router on a windowsill or in direct sunlight can push it beyond its operational limits. Just like protecting your skin from sunburn by seeking shade, safeguarding your router from overheating is crucial.
In such cases, your broadband speed may decrease, and the router might temporarily shut off until it cools down.
Aside from avoiding direct sunlight, proper router placement is essential. Concealing your router in a closet or enclosed space might seem neat, but inadequate ventilation can hamper Wi-Fi performance.

For the best performance, position your router in an open area, elevated off the ground, and centrally located within your home. Additionally, keep it away from devices that may cause signal interference, such as cordless phones, baby monitors, and microwave ovens.
Lastly, avoid placing your router near a fish tank as water can disrupt Wi-Fi signals, hindering connectivity throughout your home.
