“Manchester Woman Faces Murder Charge in House Fire Tragedy”

A murder charge has been filed against a woman in connection with the tragic death of a four-year-old girl in a house fire. Carrin Wibier, aged 45 and residing at Gateshead Close in Manchester, faces charges of murder and arson with intent to endanger life following the incident involving young Lesma-Rose Wibier in Rusholme, Manchester, in March. Wibier has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on January 7.

According to a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police, the charge is linked to the death of Lesma-Rose Wibier at a residence on Gateshead Close on March 2, 2025. The girl was rescued from the fire and transported to the hospital, where she tragically passed away shortly after arrival. Wibier has been under detention under the Mental Health Act since March 3, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

In a heartfelt tribute following the loss, the family described Lesma-Rose as the shining star of their family, highlighting her beauty, intelligence, and infectious smile. Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley expressed condolences to the family and friends of the young victim, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of emergency services during the incident. Whalley assured the public of a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire, affirming that there is no ongoing threat to the community and no additional suspects are being sought at this time.
