“BT Introduces Smart Hub 3: Enhanced Security & Wi-Fi 6 Support”

Date:

BT has introduced a new way for users to access the internet with its latest Smart Hub 3 Wi-Fi router in the UK. This advanced router not only enhances connectivity but also provides additional security features. It has the capability to automatically spot risky websites, alerting users to potential malware or other online threats. Moreover, it can detect and prevent hackers from compromising smart home devices like internet-connected cameras.

Users can conveniently monitor any identified threats using the Hub Threat Protect feature within the MyBT app. These security enhancements aim to empower households to fortify their online security and proactively guard against cyber threats.

In addition to security, the Smart Hub 3 prioritizes performance. It supports Complete Wi-Fi Plus, which ensures better signal coverage across the home and minimizes dead zones in weaker signal areas.

The Smart Hub 3 boasts a sleek and minimalist design with a small BT logo at the center, as revealed in images shared online. Notably, this router supports Wi-Fi 6 rather than the newer Wi-Fi 7 standard seen in some rival devices.

Although Wi-Fi 7 offers superior speed, reduced latency, and enhanced reliability, most current devices do not support it yet. Therefore, Wi-Fi 6 remains a strong choice for the majority of households, representing a significant advancement from older Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5 technologies.

To acquire this cutting-edge router, BT’s Smart Hub 3 will be accessible to new customers, with potential upgrades available for existing users.

The distinction between Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 lies in their wireless capabilities. Wi-Fi 6 improved wireless performance by boosting speed, efficiency, and capacity compared to its predecessors. On the other hand, Wi-Fi 7 goes a step further with wider 320 MHz channels, lower latency, and even higher speeds, making it ideal for gaming, 8K streaming, and advanced smart home setups.

For current users, Wi-Fi 6 remains a solid choice, while Wi-Fi 7 presents a more forward-looking solution.
