Nick Reiner, accused of the murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, has been turned down in his request to access a $1.5 million US trust fund intended for his legal defense. Trustees rejected Reiner’s plea for the funds, invoking a California law provision known as the “slayer statute,” which bars individuals from inheriting assets from someone they have intentionally and unlawfully killed.
