Marc-André Porlier faces charges of making threats to cause harm or death, as stated in a press release by the RCMP. The threats purportedly came in an email distributed to various undisclosed recipients, including a senator, as detailed in the police statement. Additionally, the accused is alleged to have menaced “all Canadian police officers,” according to the formal accusation.
Police authorities verified that Porlier had previously been convicted of arson and vandalism related to a church fire incident in Toronto back in 2017. The RCMP spokesperson confirmed that Porlier was serving probation for those offenses. The suspect made a court appearance on Saturday, as outlined in the official communication, with the charges remaining unproven in court.
