Frankie Dettori, the renowned jockey, concluded his illustrious career in style with a remarkable victory in Brazil, triumphing in the first leg of the Triple Crown series. Initially planning to retire on Champions Day at Ascot in October 2023, Dettori had a change of heart and extended his career in the United States.
In his final races, the 55-year-old jockey competed at the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar and embarked on a farewell tour in South America, culminating at Gavea racecourse in Rio de Janeiro. At Gavea, Dettori showcased his skills by securing victories aboard Speak Alpha and Bet You Can in the Brazilian 2,000 Guineas, the Grande Premio Estado do Rio De Janeiro, allowing him to execute his signature flying dismount celebration one last time.
