“Hamilton’s Future at Ferrari Uncertain; Young Talent Bearman Looms as Replacement”

Date:

Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has suggested that Lewis Hamilton’s tenure at Ferrari could be in jeopardy following a lackluster debut season. Steiner, 60, has identified young talent Oliver Bearman as a potential successor to Hamilton, hinting at a changing of the guard before the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Hamilton’s underwhelming performance at Ferrari has sparked speculation about his future. Steiner indicated that if Hamilton’s struggles persist into the upcoming season, the seven-time world champion may find his time with the Italian outfit cut short.

Bearman, who substituted for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix last season and joined Ferrari’s Driving Academy in 2022, has impressed with his performances for Haas. He has been earmarked as a strong candidate to take over Hamilton’s coveted seat.

Steiner voiced his support for Bearman during a segment on ‘The Red Flags podcast,’ emphatically endorsing the young driver. He highlighted Bearman’s recent success and compared his progress to more experienced peers like Ocon, emphasizing the youngster’s potential for a top-tier team seat.

Despite his recent success, Bearman faces stiff competition in the Drivers’ Championship Standings. While he has displayed consistent performance, Ferrari’s lackluster season and Hamilton’s struggles to secure a podium finish in 21 races have added pressure to the team.

Ted Kravitz, a Sky Sports F1 pitlane reporter, echoed Steiner’s sentiments, predicting Bearman’s eventual promotion to Ferrari. Kravitz emphasized the inevitability of Bearman replacing Hamilton, underscoring the young driver’s potential in the sport.

Hamilton, however, remains focused on his current contract with Ferrari, hinting that any discussions about his future are premature. With ongoing speculation surrounding potential changes at Ferrari, Hamilton emphasized his commitment to fulfilling his existing contract.
