“Victim of Online Predator Warns of Lethal Consequences”

Date:

A woman who purchased a deadly substance from a criminal named Miles Cross revealed that had she not reconsidered, the substance could have claimed her life.

Cross, 33, was recently sentenced to 14 years in prison for selling toxic substances online that led to two suicides. He exploited vulnerable individuals by operating on an internet suicide forum, where he posted a QR code for ordering chemicals directly from him and paying via his bank account.

The anonymous woman shared her ordeal, stating that when she bought the substance, she was in a state of vulnerability and distress. The ease of access to the substance made her realize the danger she was in, prompting her to seek help and move towards healing.

She emphasized that the substance Cross sold her could have been fatal and deeply affected her family. Her message aimed to raise awareness and offer support to others facing similar situations.

Gareth Evans, Assistant Chief Constable of North Wales, highlighted the manipulation tactics used by Cross, noting that one victim felt targeted by him. Evans urged individuals facing mental health challenges to seek professional support rather than fall prey to online predators like Cross.

Cross operated a scheme targeting vulnerable individuals on an internet suicide platform, selling chemical kits at £100 each. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives due to his actions.

Upon searching Cross’s residence, authorities found quantities of the lethal substance and related materials. Investigations linked him to the forum, social media accounts, and the bank account used for transactions.

Despite initially denying selling the kits, Cross eventually pleaded guilty to encouraging or assisting suicide, leading to the deaths of multiple individuals. His callous actions were motivated by financial gain, serving as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online exploitation of vulnerable individuals.

Following Cross’s sentencing, various officials and organizations condemned his predatory behavior, emphasizing the need for stricter regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
