“Two Britons Win £1 Million Each in Premium Bond Draw”

Date:

In the latest update for January 2026, the Premium Bond results were unveiled today, bringing good fortune to two individuals who are now £1 million richer as they kick off the New Year.

The first lucky winner, residing in Suffolk, holds the maximum amount of £50,000 in Premium Bonds. Their winning bond number, 570QM451332, was acquired in February 2024. Similarly, the second £1 million winner, hailing from Berkshire, also possesses £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with the winning bond number 377PG290829 purchased back in December 2019.

Premium Bonds, a savings offering by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), offer a unique twist by entering participants into a monthly prize draw instead of offering a fixed interest rate on their savings.

The monthly prizes range from £25 to a whopping £1 million, with higher chances of winning smaller prizes compared to the larger sums. Each £1 invested in Premium Bonds corresponds to a distinct bond number, with odds of winning at 22,000 to 1 for every £1 bond.

Winners are notified via email or text message by NS&I and can opt to have their prize money deposited into their bank account or reinvested in Premium Bonds. Additionally, they can use the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app to check if they have won.

The current prize fund rate for Premium Bonds stands at 3.60%, remaining consistent since the draw in August 2025. Despite a slight decline in the prize fund rate in recent months, which has led to a decrease in larger prize payouts, there are still two £1 million prizes up for grabs each month.

With over 24 million Premium Bond holders, recent data shared with This is Money reveals the luckiest locations for winning prizes. Hampshire and the Isle of Wight had 42 individuals winning £100,000 prizes in 2025, making them the second-highest recipients after Essex, where 37 prizes worth £100,000 were won last year. Outer London followed closely, with 32 winners of £100,000 prizes. Notably, the £1 million jackpot was claimed twice in Norwich and Cumbria in 2025.
