Several individuals sustained injuries when a truck crashed into a gathering of anti-Iran protestors in Los Angeles, causing chaos and panic. The incident, which took place on Veteran Avenue in the Westwood district, saw a U-Haul truck driving through a crowd of demonstrators, prompting people to flee as the vehicle advanced. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver targeted protesters holding Iranian flags and appeared to be trying to push through the assembly. The truck displayed a large banner stating, “No Shah, No Regime. USA: Don’t Repeat 1953. No Mullah.”
Susie Shoshana, an eyewitness, captured the event on her mobile phone, describing how the driver rammed the U-Haul through the protest. Subsequently, the truck was surrounded by demonstrators who started smashing its windows, escalating tensions. The driver was eventually pulled out of the truck by police officers as onlookers shouted nearby. Some protesters attempted to physically assault the suspect with punches and flagpoles, leading to police intervention to disperse the crowd and restore order.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that three individuals were injured by the truck during the incident.
