Tesco is offering free Christmas trees for a limited time. These trees, considered “wonky” due to minor imperfections like uneven branches, will be given away at select Tesco stores on Saturday, December 6. Recipients are encouraged to donate to food charities Fareshare and Trussell.
The free trees will be available at specific locations from 10 am on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one tree per household. Compared to other retailers where the cheapest trees cost £13.99 and £14.99, Tesco’s initiative aims to spread holiday cheer through imperfect yet charming trees.
Tesco’s UK CEO, Ashwin Prasad, emphasized finding joy in imperfect moments, noting that the uniqueness of these trees adds to the Christmas spirit. A recent survey revealed that most Brits believe Christmas doesn’t have to be flawless to be special, with imperfections adding to the festive atmosphere.
In another promotion, Tesco is offering Clubcard members double points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December, applicable to all third-party gift cards purchased at Tesco stores. Clubcard points can be earned on various Tesco purchases, with every £1 spent equating to points that can be redeemed for vouchers to use at Tesco.
