“Quick-Thinking Pub Patrons Thwart Gunman in Dublin”

A pub in West Dublin was disrupted last night when a masked gunman entered the premises, but quick-thinking patrons intervened to prevent any shots from being fired. The incident took place at The 79 Inn in Ballyfermot, where witnesses stated that the gunman was thwarted by patrons who threw a bar stool at him. The target of the attack managed to escape during the chaos, as the assailant, wearing a balaclava, fled the scene upon facing resistance from the pub-goers.

According to reports from Dublin Live, the gunman’s arrival followed an earlier verbal altercation. Gardai responded swiftly to the situation, stating that they are investigating the incident that occurred at a licensed establishment in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the authorities are continuing their inquiries, as confirmed by a garda spokesperson.
