A pregnant young woman was viciously pulled into a pond and almost drowned by her partner after she shared photos of them at their baby shower. The teenager, whose identity remains undisclosed, posted pictures of herself and her partner, Dominic Thomas, on Facebook. Instead of reacting positively to the images, Thomas turned violently aggressive.
The 19-year-old father had been in a hidden relationship with another woman, fearing that she would come across the photos of him and his pregnant girlfriend online. Unfortunately, his concerns materialized when his secret lover saw the pictures. hThomas, hailing from Kansas, USA, proceeded to send threatening messages to the mother of his unborn child, stating, “I sick of living knowing ur in my life so imma do sum bout it.”
In a chilling manner, he further warned, “It ain’t a threat it’s a promise,” and added, “And not gone give a single f***k about the consequence.” Recently, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted murder.
The pregnant girlfriend, only 17 at the time, responded, “Well, that’s something very nice to say to me when I’m carrying your child, so if something happens to me, he will die with me.” Thomas callously retorted, “No, he won’t,” to which the young woman replied, “If my heart stops, so does his.”
Authorities revealed that the couple had been engaged in disputes after the girlfriend discovered Thomas’ secret relationship with another woman. According to an incident report from Law & Crime, the girlfriend mentioned that after a baby shower, photos of her and Dominic were uploaded to Facebook, angering Thomas.
The girlfriend disclosed that Thomas initiated threatening messages from his phone to hers, expressing intentions to harm her. The intimidating messages were sent a day before Thomas attempted to drown his partner in Wichita. On the day of the assault, Thomas proposed a walk to the teenager. They conversed at a local pond for about 20 minutes before Thomas began mentioning his loneliness and desire not to live anymore.
The report indicated that Thomas consumed an entire pizza, claiming it was his final meal before going to jail. Subsequently, he forcibly moved his partner towards the pond after a struggle, holding her head underwater as she screamed and pleaded for mercy.
Thomas admitted to halting the attack abruptly upon hearing about their child, confessing that the mention of their offspring affected him. However, he admitted to police that he had intended to drown her due to the complicated situation he found himself in with the other woman. Thomas, now 24, was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder following a four-day trial in 2024.
