A tragic incident in Colombia resulted in the death of a popular singer, Yeison Jimenez, and five others when the plane they were traveling in crashed and caught fire.
The aircraft, carrying Jimenez and his band members, crashed shortly after take-off from Paipa Airport in Colombia’s Tundama Province. Eyewitnesses captured the horrifying scene as the plane failed to gain altitude and crashed at the end of the runway, engulfed in flames.
The victims included the pilot, co-pilot, and four passengers, including Jimenez, a renowned 34-year-old musician who had performed internationally. Prior to the flight, Jimenez shared a poignant message on Instagram, expressing humility and acknowledging the unpredictable nature of life.
The tragic loss also extended to Jimenez’s photographer, Weisman Mora, who had documented their journey on the ill-fated flight. The plane was en route to Medellin for Jimenez’s scheduled performance when the crash occurred in Marinilla yesterday afternoon.
Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the fatalities, stating that all six occupants of the plane, including the popular artist Jimenez, had perished in the crash.
Jimenez, a talented singer-songwriter who began his career at a young age, had previously shared his premonitions of a fatal air accident in a podcast interview. The crash claimed the lives of the pilot, co-pilot, and passengers Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Oscar Marin, and Jefferson Osorio, in addition to Jimenez and his photographer.
The singer’s daughter, Camila Jimenez, expressed her grief on social media, lamenting her father’s absence. Fans and followers also paid tribute to Jimenez, remembering him as a talented artist and loving individual.
