Recent data released by UK regulator Ofcom reveals varying levels of customer complaints among major broadband providers in the country. Notably, TalkTalk, Vodafone, and EE ranked poorly, falling below the national average in complaint statistics.
Ofcom’s latest update highlighted that EE, TalkTalk, and Vodafone received the highest number of broadband complaints, with TalkTalk and Vodafone experiencing an uptick in complaints compared to the previous quarter.
Conversely, Plusnet emerged as the top performer with the least number of complaints, a surprising outcome given that both Plusnet and EE are subsidiaries of BT but exhibit contrasting complaint trends.
Ofcom noted, “Plusnet was the broadband provider with the lowest complaint volume.” Following Plusnet, Sky claimed the second spot for minimal issues, while Virgin Media showed significant improvement, moving up to third place in complaint rankings.
The rankings based on complaints per 100,000 customers are as follows:
– PLUSNET: 4 complaints
– SKY: 6 complaints
– VIRGIN MEDIA: 7 complaints
– BT: 11 complaints
– VODAFONE: 10 complaints
– EE: 10 complaints
– TALKTALK: 10 complaints
In addition to broadband, Ofcom monitors complaints in other services such as Landline and Pay-TV. Utility Warehouse led in landline services with just one complaint per 100,000 customers, while Sky, Virgin Media, and Vodafone also demonstrated strong performance in this category.
However, TalkTalk continued to struggle, ranking lowest with 8 complaints per 100,000 customers. On a positive note, TalkTalk outperformed its competitors in the TV services segment, receiving the fewest complaints.
