The Bath Christmas Market, currently ongoing until December 14th in the city’s center, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Despite the official website promoting a cozy and festive atmosphere with twinkling chalets and gourmet food, some attendees felt let down by their experience.
Recently hailed as the UK’s best Christmas Market by Which?, Bath received accolades for its food and drink offerings and cultural attractions. The market, featuring over 200 chalets with local artisan goods, also allows visitors to explore the iconic Bath Abbey and Roman Baths.
While the market garnered praise from some, TikTokers shared contrasting views. One user criticized the lack of Christmas spirit and customer service, while another highlighted the overcrowding and lack of available tables at local pubs.
However, not all feedback was negative, as another user described a pleasant experience at the market, enjoying the stalls, mulled wine, and street food. Despite differing opinions, Councillor Manda Rigby defended the market, emphasizing its success in supporting local businesses and creating jobs.
