“Metal in Sex Toy Causes MRI Mishap”

Date:

A young woman suffered severe injuries when a sex toy she had inside her was pulled through her body during an MRI scan. Reportedly, she had inserted a “butt plug” before the procedure, mistakenly thinking it was made entirely of silicon. However, the toy contained metal at its core, leading to a dangerous reaction with the MRI machine that caused the toy to be dragged from her rectum up into her body. The incident prompted warnings against wearing metal objects during MRI scans.

A social media user, known as DreadPirateZero, shared an image of the incident on Twitter with the caption advising against wearing a butt plug to an MRI appointment. The post claimed that the sex toy was pulled through the patient’s body into their chest cavity, resulting in major injuries for the woman who survived the ordeal.

MRI scanners utilize powerful magnets to create detailed internal images for diagnostic purposes. Prior to undergoing an MRI, radiographers typically check for any metallic objects on patients. However, the woman did not inform the US hospital about the sex toy inside her, possibly due to her belief that it did not contain metal.

A report by the US Department of Health and Human Services detailed the incident, stating that the patient did not disclose the presence of the butt plug before the MRI, leading to the distressing outcome. The incident is among several serious MRI accidents in recent years, including a case where a man ended up with a bullet in his abdomen due to an MRI machine causing his gun to discharge involuntarily.

In another tragic incident, a man lost his life after being pulled into an MRI machine by his necklace at a facility in Long Island. The man’s wife shared the harrowing account, mentioning that despite the standard requirement to remove all jewelry and piercings before an MRI, her husband was allowed to enter the room while wearing a heavy chain.

The heartbroken widow recounted how the machine abruptly pulled her husband in, leading to multiple heart attacks and his eventual passing. These incidents serve as stark reminders of the importance of following safety protocols during MRI procedures to prevent such tragic outcomes.
