“Judge Indicates Britain’s Youngest Female Killer Had Accomplices”

Date:

Britain’s youngest female killer may have had accomplices during the fatal stabbing of a teenage girl, according to a judge’s statement. Sharon Carr, known as the “Devil’s Daughter,” committed the murder at the age of 12 by repeatedly stabbing Katie Rackliff on her way home from a nightclub in 1992. Carr has been recommended for a transfer to an open prison, signaling a potential release.

Investigators suspected the involvement of others as Katie’s body was found miles away from where she was last seen and had been relocated post-mortem.

During sentencing, Judge Mr. Justice Scott Baker indicated that Carr likely did not act alone in the killing, emphasizing a sexual motive based on the mutilation of the victim’s body and disturbing diary entries. He described Carr as an extremely dangerous individual with a twisted fascination for murder.

At the time of the crime, authorities identified a man with trendy permed hair, the last person seen with Katie, as the prime suspect. Additionally, they sought to locate a bloodstained driver of a grey Ford Escort XR3 and an individual known as Nick.

Katie, who had recently ended a relationship, was at a nightclub in Surrey before encountering Carr. The victim’s body, bearing multiple stab wounds, was discovered hours later, miles away from the initial location.

Initially, police presumed the killer was male due to the violence of the crime and the body’s relocation. Carr provided conflicting accounts of the murder, implicating two boys who were later cleared of involvement.

Despite the prosecution’s inability to explain how a 12-year-old could move the victim’s body, doubts remained about Carr acting alone. The Parole Board declined Carr’s release but suggested a transfer to an open prison, subject to final approval by the Secretary of State for Justice.
