His term officially commences on October 1, as specified in a recent news release. The festival is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 20 this year.
Tory succeeds Jeffrey Remedios, who held the position of chair since 2021. Remedios commended TIFF and its leadership, stating his enduring pride in contributing to the film festival’s journey. Additionally, TIFF introduced three new board members: Deborah Flint, David Furnish, and Daniel Tisch Echevarría. Meanwhile, Asha Daniere, who served on the board for nine years, is stepping down. TIFF expressed gratitude for Daniere’s dedicated service and contributions to the organization.
