Jockeys skillfully maneuvered to avoid a potential disaster during a recent horse race when they had to dodge an approaching ambulance at Evangeline Downs in the USA. An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances that led to this unusual incident on Saturday evening.
Normally, an ambulance trails behind a horse race on the inner side of the track in case of any emergencies involving horses or riders. However, in a surprising turn of events, the ambulance somehow found its way onto the racecourse during the eighth race at 8:35 pm in Louisiana, near Opelousas.
All eight horses competing in the race had to swiftly change course to evade the oncoming vehicle as they navigated the first turn, averting potential serious harm to both the horses and jockeys. The incident left spectators of the sport worldwide in shock.
Renowned racing analyst Kevin Blake remarked, “This could be one of the most heart-stopping close calls I’ve witnessed in a horse race. The incredible reflexes displayed by the jockeys and horses at Evangeline Downs in America were truly remarkable.” US racing journalist Ray Paulick also commented on the incident, highlighting the decisive actions taken by the jockeys to avoid a direct collision with the vehicle on the track.
The alarming incident did not go unnoticed by fans, with many expressing astonishment at the track commentator’s description of the event as a “minor incident on the turn,” followed by the acknowledgment that the ambulance was not in its designated position.
Authorities at the track have launched an inquiry into the circumstances that led to the ambulance encroaching onto the racecourse, seeking to determine how such a potentially dangerous situation unfolded.
