Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has reportedly made multiple appeals to Donald Trump seeking a pardon for his prison sentence. However, the 79-year-old US President has labeled the disgraced rapper as “very hostile” and indicated that he will not grant the request. Despite their former friendship, Trump implied that their relationship deteriorated when he first ran for president in 2016.
Following his conviction on prostitution-related charges, Combs, known as P Diddy in the music scene, was sentenced to 50 months in jail in October. It is now known that he is seeking assistance from his ex-friend Trump. Nevertheless, Trump has explicitly stated that he has no plans to fulfill Combs’ plea. Trump previously mentioned that their bond soured due to what he perceived as disparaging remarks made by Combs during his presidential campaign.
Although photos reveal past encounters between P Diddy and Trump during the late 1990s, when the musician was at the peak of his career and Trump was building his wealth in real estate, Trump seems resolute in his decision not to intervene in Combs’ legal issues. Despite Combs reportedly sending a letter to Trump requesting a pardon just months into his prison term, Trump did not acknowledge the letter during recent media interactions.
Trump’s earlier statements to the press, dating back to a May interview last year, do not bode well for the 56-year-old music magnate from New York City. Combs was found guilty of prostitution-related charges but acquitted of more severe accusations like racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking involving individuals named Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura and an unnamed woman.
