Conor McGregor Endorses UFC White House Event

Date:

Conor McGregor has expressed his approval of the upcoming UFC White House event, even though he is not slated to participate in it. Initially rumored to headline a fight on President Donald Trump’s front lawn against Michael Chandler on June 14, McGregor is now expected to compete the following month. UFC CEO Dana White recently unveiled the White House card, featuring Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event.

In a surprising move, Alex Pereira is set to move up to the heavyweight division to challenge Ciryl Gane for the interim belt in the co-main event. McGregor, although not part of the lineup, shared his support for the event by posting a picture of the card on social media with the caption “love it,” later describing it as “a great card.”

In earlier statements, the former two-weight world champion disclosed that he was awaiting confirmation of his return to the octagon. McGregor detailed his enthusiasm for the proposed White House bout against Chandler, emphasizing the anticipated excitement of the matchup. Despite the change in plans, McGregor remains eager to make his comeback at welterweight, expressing readiness to face any opponent presented to him.

McGregor’s manager is currently in discussions in Las Vegas, hoping for a favorable offer to solidify his return to the UFC ring. The fighter’s dedication to his comeback and willingness to compete at a higher weight class demonstrate his commitment to resuming his fighting career.
