A British couple from Leicester, Roger and Sue Topp, have chosen to celebrate Christmas in Benidorm, a popular Spanish coastal town they have frequented over 100 times. Benidorm has become a second home for the couple, who have been visiting for over 35 years. They prefer the town’s warm climate, entertainment options, and sense of community compared to other destinations they’ve explored.
The couple typically visits Benidorm around three times yearly, often escaping the cold British winter months. They prefer staying at the centrally located Hotel Rio Park, just a short walk from the lively main strip of Benidorm. This Christmas, they will once again enjoy the hotel’s festive offerings, including a traditional Christmas lunch and all-day entertainment.
Roger and Sue, married for 55 years, will fly to Benidorm on December 23 for their eighth visit this year. They appreciate the stress-free holiday experience provided by the hotel, with abundant food and drink options. The couple particularly enjoys the Chinese buffet at Puente De Oro and the affordable tapas at Zodiac, near their hotel.
Their trips to Benidorm have been booked through TUI, and they have established a close relationship with the local store team over the years. TUI Travel Agent Cameron Morton, who has assisted them for over a decade, notes the couple’s loyalty to Hotel Rio Park and their love for the welcoming atmosphere of Benidorm.
Despite their extensive travels to Benidorm, Roger and Sue have no plans to halt their yearly visits, emphasizing the destination’s affordability, friendliness, and suitability for all ages and budgets. They encourage others to experience Benidorm firsthand and dismiss any negative stereotypes associated with the town.
