Brits are set to sizzle this weekend with forecasters predicting that parts of the country will be warmer than Ibiza on Saturday.
New weather maps show that millions of Brits will bask in glorious temperatures that can see the mercury tip to 22C; warmer than Ibiza, where temperatures are predicted to hold to about 21C. Millions in the capital will brace for a scorching 22C today at 4pm according to metrological company Ventusky. Similar conditions will be felt in Cambridge and much of East Anglia around the same time with temperatures hovering around 20C in the East Midlands and Lincolnshire. Crossing into Yorkshire and the North West temperatures will range to 17C to 21C.
Further north into Northumberland, people can expect highs of 20C and lows of about 14C the further inland they are.
Over the Scottish border, the mercury will hit highs of 18C in Edinburgh and Inverness while temperatures will stay around 16C in and around Aberdeen.
But it will remain more mild along the west coast of the UK today, with temperatures keeping to the mid to low teens.
Unlike the Scottish capital, Glasgow will experience highs of 15C today at about 4pm.
Moving southwest, the mercury will remain at about 17C in Northern Ireland with a chillier 12C being forecast south of Belfast.
In northern Wales it is forecast to be about 11C with temperatures hovering around 10C to 14C in southern Wales.
Devon and Cornwall will experience temperatures of about 11C to 13C.
While Ventusky has forecast sunny conditions along the east of the country, the Met Office said people could expect more changeable conditions.
“Mostly dry and sunny initially, though cloud slowly increasing from the south and west,” the Met Office said in its forecast for Saturday.
“Some showery bursts of rain developing across western and southwestern areas. Still warm in the east.”
But the warmer conditions that many Brits will have become accostomed to may not last into next week, with the Met Office forecasting cooler temperatures.
The forecast from Sunday to Tuesday said: “Early rain clearing from eastern parts on Sunday then bright and breezy with some showers, mainly in the west.
“Changeable thereafter, with sunshine and some showery rain. Cooling down.”
