An amber warning has been issued for areas at greatest risk, advising the public to stay updated on the forecast and heed local authority messages.
The Met Office warns of widespread travel disruptions on roads, in the air, and on public transportation, including potential power cuts. Communities may face isolation, and mobile phone coverage could be impacted. Snow warnings cover 96 areas, with substantial snowfall anticipated in England and Wales, leading to the closure of over 1,000 schools earlier this week.
