Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Pistone hailed from a racing lineage, being the grandson of the renowned driver ‘Tiger’ Tom Pistone, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series victor.
Throughout his career, Pistone clinched over 80 feature wins in various racing categories, including Legends, Late Model, and USAR events. Noteworthy among his achievements are his four Summer Shootout Champions Legends titles garnered from 1999 to 2005.
Pistone embarked on his NASCAR journey in 2005 in the Craftsman Truck Series under Green Light Racing. He competed in a total of 10 races across NASCAR’s national series, mainly in the O’Reilly and Truck series, concluding his NASCAR tenure in 2014.
Phaedra, Pistone’s sister-in-law, proposed that Hickory Motor Speedway, a historic racing venue in North Carolina, pay tribute to Chase during an upcoming race. She emphasized Chase’s deep connection to the Speedway and the profound impact of the racing community on his life.
Hickory Motor Speedway pledged to honor Pistone’s memory before the upcoming race, acknowledging his significant presence and contributions to the racing community. Kevin Piercy, the Speedway’s general manager, fondly remembered Chase as a vibrant and cherished presence at the Speedway.
