Freeview recently announced significant changes to its TV guide, including repositioning channels and a channel closure. The British news channel, Talk (Ch 280), which features debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics with well-known presenters like Jeremy Kyle and Mark Dolan, will no longer be accessible on Freeview. Users can now access Talk through the official app or other platforms such as Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.
In addition to the channel closure, Freeview’s latest update reveals that Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 will be rebranded as Wedotv. Furthermore, three services will be relocated on the planner. Kids content on Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics will see changes in their channel positions, with Ketchup TV moving from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too shifting from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics relocating from Ch 214 to Ch 210.
Freeview emphasized that channel changes are common, with channels deciding to move, add, or remove content. To ensure access to all channels, users are advised to check and update their TV settings through the retuning process. Instructions for retuning include pressing the menu button on the remote control, selecting the setup or installation option, choosing first-time installation, and saving the channels found during the retune process.
