Aldi strikes again and this time with not one, but three brand new hair masks to add to your next beauty haul. If haircare brand Amika has caught your eye, then these two new offerings from Lacura are bound to grab your attention as they look awfully familiar but come with a price tag that’s far easier to swallow.
The Lacura Hair Masks are reparative and vegan-friendly, and are available in stores now for just £4.99 each. For just under a fiver, you can get your hands on hair masks which come packed with nourishing ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil, and vitamin E.
Lacura claims to provide salon-quality results without the hefty price tag, as shoppers can save up to 86% compared to Brooklyn-born brand, Amika. The trio of hair masks available to buy include the Lacura Brilliant Hair Shine Mask, which some shoppers compare to Amika’s Flash Instant Shine Mask, which retails at £26, saving you £21.01.
If Amika’s viral favourite, The Kure Intense Bond Repair Mask, is on your beauty wishlist, you’ll probably love the Lacura Nourishing Hair Mask, not only does it work the same by banishing dry, unruly hair, but it also saves you a whopping £30.01. And finally, Lacura’s Repair Hair Mask is similar to Amika’s Soulfood Nourishing Mask, saving you £23.01.
If you plan on buying the entire Lacura hair mask collection, you’ll save yourself a whopping £74 compared to an Amika shop, but as a hair mask connoisseur, I was keen to see whether the masks compare, so I put the Repair Hair Mask to the test.
I have short, coily hair that tends to get dry fast, so I’m always on the lookout for a deep conditioning mask that’ll keep my curls nourished and moisturised all week long. The Repair Hair Mask is specifically formulated with shea butter and mango butter to detangle dry and damaged hair while hydrating my strands and preventing breakage – a huge tick for me.
As instructed on the side of the tub, I used the Repair Hair Mask on the mid-lengths and ends of my hair after shampooing and conditioning. I applied it to wet hair and raked it through, ensuring each and every strand was coated in the product.
My first impressions of this product were surprisingly good. As a fan of similar products with a bigger price tag, I have to say it matched up pretty well. I loved how thick, rich and deeply conditioning it was and found that a little bit went a long way. It also smelled incredible.
I left the product on my hair for seven minutes, the maximum amount of recommended time to ensure I could get all the possible benefits. Afterwards, I rinsed my hair and fell in love with the mask even more. My hair, once in need of a moisture boost, felt softer than ever and even boasted a subtle shine.
For just £4.99, my hair had been given the hydration and moisture boost it desperately needed, my curls were bouncy, full and shiny and I felt reassured that the mask worked hard to strengthen my coils from the inside out. This hair mask will absolutely be a new part of my weekly hair routine, I might even use it mid-week too!
