Police are seeking a man captured on CCTV following an alleged sexual assault on a woman aboard a train. The British Transport Police reported that the man sat next to the female passenger and proceeded to sexually assault her. Despite the woman changing seats twice to evade him, the man persistently followed her on both occasions.
The incident reportedly occurred on the District line train heading towards Cannon Street Tube station in London on December 15, close to 8pm. Authorities have released an image of the man believed to have relevant information for the investigation.
A public appeal from the police stated, “Do you recognize this individual? An assault took place onboard a District Line train towards Cannon Street Underground station just before 8pm on Monday, December 15. The man in question sat beside and assaulted a woman. He continued to pursue her even after she relocated seats.”
Officials are urging anyone who can identify the man to reach out to British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 683 of December 15.
