Police intervened on an EasyJet flight to Egypt and halted the trip due to a group of unruly passengers. The flight, named EZY3077, was scheduled to take off from Belfast International Airport on January 3 but was postponed until the following morning. EasyJet emphasized their zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behavior onboard and expressed the seriousness with which they handle such incidents.
The disruptive behavior caused a delay that exceeded the crew’s regulated operating hours, leading to the flight’s cancellation. EasyJet clarified that their crew is trained to promptly address any disruptions to ensure the safety of all passengers. Affected customers were provided with hotel accommodations and meals as the flight was rescheduled for the next day.
A spokesperson for EasyJet mentioned that the incident involved a group of passengers behaving disruptively on board the flight to Hurghada. They apologized for any inconvenience caused, reiterating that customer and crew safety is their top priority. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) assisted in managing the situation by aiding the Belfast International Airport Constabulary in removing passengers from the flight.
