Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max, the latest streaming service, has been launched, offering popular titles like Game of Thrones and Friends for free to those with a Sky Ultimate TV package. This move follows the recent inclusion of Disney+ in select plans at no extra charge. Subscribers can also enjoy a vast library of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films on the HBO Max platform.
Sky has confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q customers with the appropriate packages will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. To access the service, customers can simply launch the HBO Max app from their homepage and follow the on-screen instructions to activate it, allowing for on-demand streaming.
For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, they can switch to it starting at £22 per month, which will increase to £24 from April 1st. This package includes over 130 Sky channels, along with Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, highlighted the significance of this new offering, stating, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW by bringing Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu together in a unified subscription, offering a unique entertainment experience.”
NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max integration at no additional cost through the NOW app. Those who are not Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on its website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
