Ukraine’s chief intelligence officer, a figure greatly feared by the Russian leader Vladimir Putin, has been appointed to a high-ranking position in Kyiv. Having consistently outsmarted Russian intelligence, Budanov recently staged a fake assassination of a key Russian militia leader sought after by Moscow. He even managed to trick Moscow’s operatives into paying half a million dollars for the staged hit, only to reveal the ruse in a video alongside the supposedly deceased leader.
Budanov’s impressive track record includes leading successful covert operations against Russian forces, including a daring mission in Crimea in 2016. Despite multiple attempts on his life, Budanov has evaded Russian special forces, showcasing his exceptional skills in military tactics.
