“Ryanair’s Christmas Travel Gift Packing Guide”

Date:

During the Christmas holiday season, travel tends to be at its peak, leading to increased security measures at airports. One common issue faced by travelers is the presence of Christmas gifts in their luggage, causing delays in security checks.

To address this concern, Ryanair has provided a helpful guide on how to pack gifts for Christmas travel. The airline warns against wrapping presents before packing them, as security staff may need to inspect wrapped items, leading to potential damage to the wrapping. Instead, they suggest packing gifts without wrapping them and bringing a flat gift bag to use upon arrival.

Furthermore, Ryanair advises travelers to keep valuables in their smaller hand luggage to prevent them from being placed in the hold due to limited overhead space. Additionally, passengers are reminded not to include items resembling weapons, such as toy guns, in their hand luggage to avoid security issues.

It is also recommended to refrain from purchasing Christmas crackers, sparklers, party poppers, or fireworks as they are considered explosives. When buying liquid gifts like perfume or alcohol, travelers should be aware of liquid restrictions at their departure and arrival airports and consider purchasing duty-free items.

While most UK airports maintain the standard 100ml liquid limit for hand luggage, some destinations have relaxed rules allowing containers of up to two liters. For those carrying Christmas food items like jams or soups, which are considered liquids, they should be packed in checked luggage in compliance with airline regulations.
