“Online Dare Tragedy: Live Streamer Dies From Overdose”

Date:

Authorities are investigating the tragic death of a live streamer who reportedly succumbed to an overdose following his participation in a drug-infused online dare.

Sergio Jimenez, aged 37, is said to have consumed a bottle of whiskey and snorted six grams of cocaine within a brief three-hour span. His lifeless body was discovered on his bed in a pose reminiscent of praying at his residence in Barcelona, Spain.

During the incident, a webcam was left active, continuing to stream the unfolding events. Allegedly, a select group of viewers paid to witness the New Year’s Eve online challenge.

Family members of Mr. Jimenez disclosed that some viewers inquired whether he was recovering from a hangover or had finished the whiskey he was consuming.

Subsequently, law enforcement has initiated an investigation into what is believed to be the first fatality resulting from an extreme online challenge in Spain. The possibility of criminal charges related to inciting risky behavior is being considered.

Teresa, the grieving mother of Sergio, shared with Catalan daily El Periodico: “My eldest son, Jordi, who resides in the Pyrenees, had warned us a few months back about Sergio’s video activities. I noticed his bedroom door slightly ajar when I got up to use the bathroom just before 2 am.”

“Upon questioning him, Sergio remained unresponsive. I attempted to enter his room but was obstructed by scattered clothes on the floor,” she added, recalling the distressing encounter. “From outside, I repeatedly asked him questions, but he did not reply. I observed him kneeling on the bed in a prayer-like posture.”

Reports indicate that Sergio had already passed away before emergency services could be summoned. Daniel, another son of Teresa, described the scene, mentioning finding a nearly empty whiskey bottle, energy drink cans, and a heap of cocaine on a plate in Sergio’s room.

“My brother was on the floor, his head resting on the mattress in a kneeling position. The computer was still on, with voices heard asking if he was sleeping off a hangover,” Daniel recounted.

Teresa informed the authorities that she had cautioned Sergio against consuming alcohol due to his psychiatric medication, which she had noticed on his table hours before the online stunt.

Simon Perez, known for his online presence and drug-related content, speculated that Sergio might have been trying to emulate him. Perez expressed his reaction to the tragedy in a YouTube video, stating: “He has passed away. I was informed that he ingested six grams of cocaine within three hours, which led to an overdose. It could have happened to me, but it happened to Sergio instead.”

In a separate incident, Raphael Graven, also known as Jean Pormanove, was discovered deceased by authorities. Known for his daring online activities, he perished following a live stream and a period of “10 days of torment, sleep deprivation, and
