Man Attacks Patients at Bolton A&E, Arrested

Police were called to Bolton A&E this afternoon following reports of a man attacking patients. The incident occurred around 4:15 pm on Friday, where a man who had been brought to the hospital by police allegedly started shouting at other patients in the waiting room. He proceeded to punch one man to the ground and bite another person’s ear, as per the Manchester Evening News.

A man in his 20s was subsequently arrested at the scene and taken into custody. Witness Michael Anderson, who was present with his pregnant partner, mentioned that he and a nurse had to restrain the suspect on the ground to prevent further attacks until security staff intervened.

Photographs taken on the day displayed multiple police vehicles outside the A&E entrance. According to a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police, the incident led to the arrest of the man in his 20s on suspicion of assault charges, including police assault and racially aggravated public order offenses.

No information regarding the extent of injuries sustained has been disclosed by the authorities. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is yet to provide a statement regarding the incident.
