“Olympic Champion Jessica Ennis-Hill Joins Kevin Sinfield’s 7-Day Charity Run”

Date:

Jessica Ennis-Hill, the Olympic champion, has confirmed her participation alongside Kevin Sinfield in his ‘7 in 7 Together’ challenge to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Sheffield. Sinfield, who commenced the ultra marathon challenge on Monday, aims to run daily for a week. This initiative marks Sinfield’s sixth annual fundraiser for MND charities, having amassed over £10 million to date, contributing to the establishment of a pioneering center in Leeds.

Inspired by his friend Rob Burrow’s MND diagnosis, Sinfield’s remarkable efforts have garnered global acclaim, with Ennis-Hill lending her support to this noble cause. The decorated heptathlon gold medalist from the 2012 Olympics and three-time world champion has transitioned into a successful media career post-retirement, actively supporting charitable organizations like the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Barrie Wells’ sports foundation.

Sinfield’s unwavering commitment to MND advocacy persists, especially following the recent news of England World Cup winner Lewis Moody’s MND diagnosis. Moody, in turn, plans to host a fundraising dinner in April and organize a charity bike ride in 2026. After the Sheffield leg, Sinfield will continue his endeavor in Cumbria, Scotland, culminating in Leeds on Sunday.
