Tiger Woods recently announced a break from professional golf following a back surgery in October. This procedure marked his seventh back surgery and the third major operation in the past two years, with previous surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.
Despite winning the Masters in 2019, ending an 11-year Major title drought, Woods’ career has been hampered by recurring injuries. While he managed to host the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, he acknowledged a lengthy recovery period before returning to competitive play.
Reflecting on his rehabilitation process, Woods mentioned being cleared for chipping and putting after six weeks post-surgery. He emphasized the importance of gradually rebuilding strength and rotational movements critical for his comeback.
A significant driving force for Woods could be breaking the PGA record for most tournament wins, currently tied at 82 with Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, highlighted the challenge of merely navigating the golf course as a key hurdle in his road to recovery.
