“Controversy Erupts Over Liz Truss’s Christmas Dinner Preferences”

Date:

Criticism has been directed at Liz Truss for her controversial revelation about her Christmas dinner preferences, with contrasting opinions emerging on the matter.

During a discussion with Nick Ferrari on LBC radio, the former Conservative Prime Minister discussed her family’s approach to preparing Christmas Day dinner, disclosing an unexpected detail about her festive meal plans.

In response to Ferrari’s inquiry about her role in the meal preparations, Truss confirmed that she handles the potatoes while her husband, Hugh O’Leary, takes charge of cooking the turkey. She also revealed that Yorkshire puddings are notably absent from their Christmas spread, a decision she staunchly defends.

Addressing the debate over Yorkshire puddings, Truss expressed her belief that they are best suited for roast beef rather than turkey, a sentiment that ignited a lively discussion among viewers. Despite this, she acknowledged that their household does partake in another British tradition by enjoying a glass of Buck’s Fizz at the start of the celebrations.

The conversation surrounding the inclusion of Yorkshire puddings in a Christmas dinner menu, a topic that has long divided opinions, was reignited by Truss’s remarks. A recent YouGov poll revealed varying preferences, with almost half of Britons considering Yorkshire puddings for Christmas dinner, a figure that rises among those opting for roast beef over turkey.

While former royal butler Grant Harrold suggested that the royal family at Sandringham might not include Yorkshire puddings with their Christmas meal, other culinary experts, like Karl Green from The Unruly Pig, advocate for their presence on the festive table.
