“Samsung Ends Support for Galaxy S21 Models”

Date:

Samsung has ceased support for older Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S21 series, meaning no more software updates will be available for these models. The decision was recently noticed by TechRadar, as Samsung removed the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra from its list of supported devices for security updates. While manufacturers typically continue to provide security patches even after main Android updates stop, the S21 models are no longer receiving any new system updates. If you own one of these phones from 2021, it might be time to consider upgrading for security reasons.

Samsung initially promised four years of Android updates and five years of security updates for the S21 series, but those commitments have now expired in 2026. The latest Galaxy S25, however, offers seven years of both Android and security updates, enhancing the longevity of the device.

Notably, the Galaxy S21 FE is still receiving quarterly security updates and is expected to do so for at least another year. For those contemplating an upgrade, it could be wise to wait, as Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy S26 series later this month, with potential improvements like a faster processor, enhanced camera, stronger design, and improved battery life.

Mirror Online will continue to monitor Samsung news and provide updates on any launch announcements.
