The residence of Vice President JD Vance in Cincinnati was targeted in an attack, resulting in shattered windows. Secret service personnel swiftly responded to the incident early Monday, leading to the apprehension of a suspect. While the whereabouts of Vance during the attack remain undisclosed, he was known to have been in Florida last Friday, meeting with Donald Trump.
During his visit to Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Vance engaged in discussions regarding planned actions in Venezuela and the operation to oust Nicolas Maduro. Despite being present via secure video conference for the operation’s execution, Vance opted not to join the president and other officials at Mar-a-Lago to maintain operational secrecy.
Following the incident, Vance’s office emphasized heightened security concerns, prompting restrictions on the Vice President and President being away from the White House simultaneously. Law enforcement and secret service agents were observed at Vance’s property post-incident, confirming damage to multiple windows. Fortunately, Vance and his family were not present during the attack. While a suspect was detained, charges against them were not disclosed by the police.
In anticipation of security measures, road closures around Vance’s home in East Walnut Hills were implemented from New Year’s Day until Sunday. Residents were advised of law enforcement checkpoints in the vicinity, with specific access points allocated for those residing within the closed-off area. Vehicle checkpoints were established at strategic locations, while a pedestrian-only checkpoint was also designated. Alternative routes were suggested for drivers, urging them to consider additional travel time due to the security measures in place.
