Tragedy struck a village in Rhondda Cynon Taf as a fatal house fire claimed a life. The incident unfolded in Glenboi near Mountain Ash just before 2 am on New Year’s Eve, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames, while police secured the area and evacuated nearby residents. Unfortunately, a person was found deceased inside the property, as confirmed by South Wales Police on Wednesday morning.
The situation is still ongoing, with Aberdare Road expected to remain closed for an extended period. Joint efforts by South Wales Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and Rhondda Cynon Taf Council are underway to investigate the cause of the fire.
A cordon has been established around the site to facilitate investigations once it is deemed safe to enter the property.
